Full-time (scheduled 72 hrs or more per pay period) Job Definition Job Description SCOPE OF POSITION The Scheduling Operator I functions as a central point of coordination for a variety of requests across the Ballad system.
This individual has a working knowledge of the advanced call system and software packages used to effect a solution to these requests.
This position receives requests via phone and in-house orders to schedule appointments for approximately 1,000 medical procedures involving ambulatory care, outpatient procedures, and both inpatient and outpatient Cardiovascular Services procedures utilizing the SMS Resource Scheduling pathways.
This position schedules educational events such as classes and/or services for staff within the Ballad Health Care System for classes and/or services through The Professionals Centramax software program.
The Professionals software is also utilized to schedule members of the communities served by Ballad for classes and services provided by any of the Ballad facilities.
Duties include providing professional telephone answering and computer interactive scheduling services for the Ballad system, maintaining confidentiality with matters relating to patients and staff at Ballad.
In addition to telephone and computer skills, the ability to use copiers, faxes and printers is required.
Preparing and sending information for both the professional and non-professional consumer is completed daily.
Flexibility is required to adapt to various situations as prescribed by physician or management.
Age of patient can be from neonatal to geriatric for any request.
Accuracy of data entry in order to avoid creating duplicate Medical Record numbers is of utmost importance.
This position will be monitored and reports sent to the appropriate managers tracking any occurrences of duplicate entries.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP See Table of Organization.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE 1.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
2.
Zero (0) to two (2) years experience (or equivalent) with a call center dealing with medical test scheduling.
3.
Good skills in typing and the use of desktop computers.
4.
Capable of handling a highly visible job which deals with physicians, office staff, hospital staff, and patients and their families Compensation Location and Work Requirements Work Schedule:
8 AM to 5 PM Shift:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
