We currently have openings in our Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Departments.
ETSU Physicians is a multi-specialty practice group located in Northeast Tennessee, and is affiliated with ETSU Health, Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University.

JOB
Summary:
The Coding & Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for performing the following duties in an efficient and effective manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews the medical records, determines appropriate services to be coded (ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS) for each billing record and applies.
Reviews documentation for diagnosis coding specificity for Hierarchical Condition Category Coding.
Organizes work for accuracy and effectiveness in order to ensure compliance of proper billing and coding procedures of third party carriers and to ensure complete and accurate reimbursements.
Reports any concerns/problems regarding billing and makes recommendations for solutions of the same to the Compliance Auditor/Educator.
Stays current with changes in reimbursement regulations.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
Graduation from a standard high school or GED.
CPC-A at minimum required.
CCS preferred with a minimum of three years' experience.
Must be proficient in utilizing computer and computer software programs.
Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with physicians, residents, students, and staff, and convey a professional and positive image and attitude.
