A background in accounting, operations with wills and trusts, taxes, investments, and/or financial institutions is preferred. Strong motivation to learn and dedication to professional development is required.
The general duties of this position are providing accounting, compliance and administrative functions in support of trust officer(s) and include but are not limited to the following duties:
Maintain complete and accurate account records to facilitate reporting to beneficiaries and regulatory agencies
Perform and document reconciliation of trust accounting records with custodial records
Open and close accounts
Process receipts and deposits, invoices and distributions
Prepare routine correspondence
Ensure that pending items are dealt with in a timely manner
Compile information for management meetings, administrative and investment reviews
Perform other administrative duties as requested
Detail orientated
Work independently with excellent organization, time-management and prioritization skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
