Not required The Health Aid performs the full range of duties essential to support the reprocessing of NC-RME throughout the medical center. The incumbent works independently to perform tasks and develops his/her own workflow in order to most efficiently serve the needs of the medical center. The Health Aid's duties include, but are not limited to:
Adhere to facility guidelines and manufacturer instructions for cleaning items. Use necessary precautions and protective equipment to prevent cross contamination. Clean NC-RME items placed in soiled utility rooms. Maintain inventory of NC-RME items on each ward/clinic location. Maintain inventory of supplies needed for cleaning NC-RME in soiled utility rooms. Maintain knowledge of aseptic principles and techniques. Maintain knowledge of infection control. Conform to newly accepted methods, procedures and/or techniques. General
Experience:
Applicants must have six (6) months of experience - (1) Any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience in the health care field. Experience in working with Non-Critical Reusable Medical Equipment (NC-RME) preferred. NOTE:

Successfully completed post-high school education is qualifying for grade GS-3. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business or technical school. (Copy of transcripts must be submitted with application and must reflect credit hours/grades earned and degree conferred date, if applicable.) Combining Experience and Education:
Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience are also qualifying. For GS-3 level positions, determine the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the 6 months' experience required for GS-3; then determine the applicant's education as a percentage of the l year of education that meets the requirements for GS-3. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for GS-3. (Copy of transcripts must be submitted with application and must reflect credit hours/grades earned and degree conferred date, if applicable.) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Demands - The work involves walking or standing for the majority of the work shift. The work involves frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting equipment. The work involves frequent twisting, bending and kneeling in order to complete duties. There will also be repetitive bending while cleaning. Incumbent must be physically able to remain engaged in manual work requiring moderately heavy physical effort during the entire tour of duty. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
