Incumbent has frequent contact with supervisory personnel of other services for the purpose of coordinating EMS activities and to insure a high degree of inter-departmental relations exist. Incumbent must communicate with Chief/Asst. Chief, EMS and key management staff in coordinating the delivery and installation of furniture and accessories, and office relocations. Assists in testing and evaluating new products, implements new cleaning procedures, methods and equipment to aseptically improve the hospital environment. Assists in the hospital sanitation inspection program. Attends monthly staff conferences and reports any information pertinent to the housekeeping operation. Holds staff meeting with assigned personnel and discusses problem areas, safety, training, hospital policy, changes in procedures, general information, etc. Assists in the overall preparation of systematic review of Environmental Management Service, recurring and special non-recurring reports as required by the Chief/Asst. Chief, Environmental Management Service. Incumbent is under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Chief, Environmental Management Service, who gives general instructions regarding work assignments. Incumbent is responsible for the maintenance, storage and safeguard of housekeeping tools, equipment, materials, and supplies for his/her area of assignment. The incumbent has the responsibility for instructing employees in work operations and conducts inspections of work while in progress and completed to assure that all factors are adhered to and all objectives have been met. Specials work assignments are given verbally at conference and occasionally deadlines are determined. Many assignments and projects planned required considerable time for completion. Work is spot checked periodically for compliance with sanitation standards. Work Schedule:

Experience:

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The Housekeeping Aid must be in good physical condition as the job requires continuous body and arm movement, walking, standing, twisting, bending and pushing. The Housekeeping Aid must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, be able to work from a ladder, and be able to push loaded carts through hallways and on/off elevators.
