These positions will serve as File Clerk/Scanning Specialists in the Medical Records File Unit of Health Information Management Section with the Business Office, at the VA Medical Center in Mountain Home/Johnson City, TN. Major duties:
Receive, index, scan and assign appropriate nomenclature to health and administrative information. Perform filing health documents in accordance with approved procedure. Maintain system of paper medical records. Interface with personal computer (PC) as well as numerous VISTA and CPRS applications (computer technology). Request from and transfer records to other Veterans Health Administration (VHA) medical facilities. Identify and prepare records for retention and disposition. Protect confidentiality of patient information, access to computer files and release of access codes. Perform clerical duties, including record tracking. May train approved medical center staff on scanning procedures. Work Schedule:

Experience:
To qualify for this position, you must possess one (1) year of General Experience, that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Mail and File Clerk. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION:
Possess successfully completed two (2) years of education above the High school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
